Edwards and his asinine comments…

By D.A.

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said on Wednesday that the U.S.-led war on terrorism is “a bumper sticker, not a plan” that has weakened Washington’s global standing. Edwards also urged the U.S. Congress to use its funding power to force an immediate pullout of up to 50,000 U.S. combat troops from Iraq, then a full withdrawal within a year.

In the same statement as that above, Edwards also mentioned that once the United States has withdrawn from Iraq, it must keep sufficient forces in the region to prevent a genocide, deter a regional spillover of the civil war and stop Iraq from becoming a safe haven for al-Qaeda.

How can someone say we need to pull out of Iraq in one breath and with the very next, state that we need to keep “sufficient forces”? This is an example of the inconsistencies of the Democratic Party when it comes to National Defense and how the party has the slightest clue when it comes to defending our Country and our Constitution.
