May 27, 2007 by D.A.Al Gore criticized the “trivialities and nonsense” of celebrity gossip in the media and called on people to focus instead on issues like Iraq and climate change. Gore, who is promoting his new book, made the comments at a book signing in New York, where he was greeted by more than 1,300 fans.
Gore is talking about CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, Fox News & from that list, all but one are known Liberal Media outlets. My question is why is he criticizing the media outlets that support his party and his cause? Other than the fact that he wants these media outlets to not spend time on Lindsey Lohan’s recent arrest on suspicion of DUI, but would much rather have more of “The Assault of Reason” on the Bush administration and the Republican Party. Point of it all- Gore wants the drive-by media to focus on condemning the Republicans and not so much on news information he feels is non-essential.
Say No to Amnesty of Illegal Immigrants
May 26, 2007 by D.A.An issue that has been on my mind as I have been traveling the country is that of immigration and the millions of illegal immigrants that are living in amongst the citizens of the great United States of America. I am talking about the fact we currently have 12 million people who are here in the states illegally. Potentially these lawbreakers could gain amnesty and suddenly go from illegal status to that of being legal through certain processes which will result in them having benefits that were previously given to OUR very own citizens.
Now, we have Politicians who are against building a fence between the U.S. & Mexico who would rather have more Border Patrol agents that we would have to pay for rather than a fence that once is built is taken care of throughout. No pay increases, no days sick, nothing. It would be permanent and a solution would be garnered. However, granting these illegal immigrants amnesty is only going to reward those who did not follow the rules when crossing over into this country. The argument has been made that this is going to bring the country down, while those in favor of the amnesty feel it would strengthen the U.S.
I see this as only truly benefiting one party and that would be the Democratic Party as the immigrants being granted amnesty would primarily be located in states that tend to vote Republican. All of a sudden you add in these extra votes who would potentially swing towards the Democrats and BAM, you have Democrat control throughout the U.S. thanks to rewarding those who cannot follow the rules and regulations which have made this country great. Suddenly the Democrats have control throughout the U.S. thanks to corruption of our American Society.
Edwards and his asinine comments…
May 26, 2007 by D.A.Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said on Wednesday that the U.S.-led war on terrorism is “a bumper sticker, not a plan” that has weakened Washington’s global standing. Edwards also urged the U.S. Congress to use its funding power to force an immediate pullout of up to 50,000 U.S. combat troops from Iraq, then a full withdrawal within a year.
In the same statement as that above, Edwards also mentioned that once the United States has withdrawn from Iraq, it must keep sufficient forces in the region to prevent a genocide, deter a regional spillover of the civil war and stop Iraq from becoming a safe haven for al-Qaeda.
How can someone say we need to pull out of Iraq in one breath and with the very next, state that we need to keep “sufficient forces”? This is an example of the inconsistencies of the Democratic Party when it comes to National Defense and how the party has the slightest clue when it comes to defending our Country and our Constitution.
